Earlier in the day, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared details on his solo film for Shazam’s nemesis, Black Adam, who will face off against not one, but four, superheroes in Black Adam. Sinbads kids are shutting down theories of a long-lost Shazaam genie movie. It wasn’t the only Shazam news to be revealed at DC FanDome. Two children Sam (Devon Sawa) & Maggie (Tina Majorino) accidentally summon Shazaam. In the same breath, he announced that he had a role in the new Shazam movie, muddying the waters of the Shazam/ Kazaam/Sinbad/Shaq argument forever. Here's the plot: 'Sinbad plays a bumbling genie who grants wishes to two children and takes them on a journey. The Sinbad/Shazam connection is such a widespread misconception that it even reached the actor himself, as he explained in a surprise appearance on the Shazam! panel of DC FanDome. There was a movie about a genie played by a famous, contemporary Black actor/luminary - but it was called Kazaam, and it starred Shaquille O’Neil. The famed comedian Sinbad, who plays Lil Rel Howery’s father in the upcoming Fox sitcom Rel, has dozens of credits listed on IMDB. The idea that Sinbad played a genie in a movie called Shazam sometime in the 1990s is a prime example of the Mandela Effect.
